ENERGY EFFICIENT REBATE
The three mortgage insurers offer a premium refund of up to 25% when you buy or build an energy efficient home, or when you buy an existing home and make energy-saving renovations.

GST/HST NEW HOUSING REBATE
The GST/HST new housing rebate allows an individual to recover some of the GST or the federal part of the HST paid for a new or substantially renovated house that is for use as the individual's, or their relation's, primary place of residence, when all the other conditions are met:
Purchased a new or substantially renovated house from a builder.
Constructed or substantially renovated your own home (or hired out the construction or renovation).
The fair market value of the house on completion is less than $450,000.

HOME ACCESSIBILITY TAX CREDIT
The Home Accessibility Tax Credit is a federal non-refundable tax credit. This credit is for renovations that would make the home accessible for disabled individuals or individuals above 65 years of age. The renovations made must be permanently affixed/features of the home and allow the individual to move freely within the house which reduces the risk of injury. CANADA GREENER HOMES GRANT
The Canada Greener Homes Grant will help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient. Participants in the program are eligible for up to $5,600 under the grant. For more information check out the NRCan website: Canada Greener Homes Grant (nrcan.gc.ca)
Here is what the grant offers:
Up to 700,000 grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy efficient retrofits to their homes, such as better insulation
EnerGuide evaluations (worth up to $600) and expert advice to homeowners so they can begin to plan their retrofits
Recruitment and training of EnerGuide energy advisors to meet the increased demand; this will create new jobs across Canada.
